Guys, she’s slipping.  Won’t eat, won’t even lick the pumpkin spoon.  Currently trembling outside, refusing to come in.

Got her inside, but she’s currently trembling under the dining table and very laboured breathing. Iris is coming to sit with her while I  drive Jasper to Ruff Haus and pick up food for the others. Then I think I’m taking her to emerg again. Not sure if I’ll be taking her home, unless there’s a miracle.

I left her with Iris while I dropped off Jasper and picked up some food for the others. Her breathing is much better, and she ate some banana treats!  She also tried to chase Cadeau. So I may have just had a minor breakdown at Ruff Haus for nothing…. The vet had already left for the day by 11am (?!?), so she has an appointment for tomorrow morning, but I’ll take her to emerg if her breathing gets laboured again. Right now, she’s enjoying snow and banana treats, and we’re going to cuddle and not stress out for now.

She wanted to go outside, so I suited up to go with her.  She had a big pee, then ran down the back steps to her favourite poop place.  Let go a giant whoosh of diarrhea, then went around the corner for a second one.  Not happy about the diarrhea, but getting rid of it seems to have made her a lot more comfortable!  We hung out and watched people go by on the street – and she barked a mighty bark at the guy going through the alley!!  Came back in and ate a few treats and SOME of the pumpkin – but then she tasted the meds that had started to dissolve in it, and gave me a dirty look, so I don't know how many meds actually made it into her system.  May have to top it with yogurt and try again later.  She's now snoozing on the dining room carpet again, but seems much more comfortable without all that pressure in her innards.

TW: addiction, death, and a daughter's (hard-earned) irreverence

(Forgive me, but sometimes I have to go into the darkness in order to see the light, and those who knew me back then will understand the day I'm talking about...)

I just remembered that I saw my father in his last week of liver failure.

Comparatively speaking, Macie is a healthy pony ready for a steeplechase.  I shall remember this every time I think "woe, the end is near!" for Macie.

She ain't having it easy, but this is not her final day.  If that old bastard lasted a year, then as long as that tail's still wagging and she's still wanting to guard the house and chase the cats, she can make it to her vet appointment tomorrow.  (Even if all she wants to eat is pumpkin and Banana Kablamas, that girl is getting pumpkin and fucking Banana Kablamas!)

When I dropped him off at Ruff Haus today, I didn’t think he’d see his sister again.

I know there have been many photos of them both in this exact same place, but today’s is extra special.
