We did it! Ride for Refuge 2026, in support of the Cedar Centre is done and dusted – and I actually managed to follow the correct path this year, and completed the full 5K. I also got to be Truman’s handler for the day (he’s the adorable one, and the facility service dog who took over from now-retired Vixon).
The weather was beautiful and the fall colours were glorious, and they had their best turnout to date. They still have to run the final tally, but it looks like a little over $40K was raised for the Cedar Centre today, to help them help children who have experienced interpersonal trauma, and the adults who survived it.
If you didn’t get your donation in, there’s still time – head on over to https://ride.w-ith.me/Alyssa and make your pledge.
I’m heading to the couch.
