Happy International Women's Day, Everyone!

The Feminine
Is not
Dead
Nor is she
Sleeping

Angry, yes,
Seething, yes.

Biding her time;

Yes.
Yes.

- Alice Walker

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY, EVERYONE!

Sorry for the lack of update on the Feminine Canine – been juggling much today (including my own mental health, which needs to be a priority so I'm still capable of caring for the Feminine Canine and her three mammalian siblings).

She slept through the night – which could be blamed on the fact that I passed out on the couch watching television and didn't actually go to bed-bed until about 6am, but she refused to go outside en route, and we all then slept until 10 (pretty sure her last trip outside was about 2am-ish).

She pretty much HOOVERED her breakfast.  Although spit out the two diuretics, which resulted in her getting an extra helping of pumpkin, so I could get those into her.

Her bloating is still on the high end, so she needs to take her damned diuretics!!!

She was bored and cranky, so I took her for a walk around the neighbourhood (with the stinky brother), and she got farther than we'd gone for a while.  She probably could have kept going, but I had to get back home for a meeting.

That was enough for her, though, so she's been happily napping.  On the couch, which she jumped up on, all by herself.

The vet sent over the results of her latest blood tests, although some of the tests are different than the ones done in January, so I'm not quite sure how to compare, or whether I should be worried about the levels of things they're showing, or relieved that they're coming down.  I know the vet said the ALT was halved, so I'm hanging on to that.  But these other numbers that we haven't discussed (and I haven't seen listed before) are still out of range – although not as dramatically as the ALT.  Also, I only have January to compare to (when she was totally asymptomatic), and don't have access to the levels she was at when in emerg, so my catastrophizer brain is not happy with having information but not knowing how to process it.

I shall remind myself that she is ACTING HEALTHIER, and that's the important part.

Her poop is now yellow, which is typical of liver issues, since the bile doesn't get to the poop to turn it the usual brown colour.  But normal consistency.  So I sent a note to the vet to add to her file.

She's eating, she's drinking, she's PULLING ON THE FREAKING LEASH, and she's getting up on the couch by herself.  So... I will try not to think about numbers I don't even understand, and trust that her cute little body is doing its best to heal, so I can stop worrying and just yell at her for pulling on the leash.  😀

And I'm going to be a good girl and tend to my own eating and drinking right now, so that she doesn't have to take care of me, but can concentrate on getting better.

Macie sends love and schlurps, and says Happy International Women's Day!
